Why consider Shambhala Online?- Shambhala Online is a virtual centre, run by the Shambhala Office of Practice and Education.
- Its aim is to provide enriched study opportunities for people across the mandala, without competing with the programs offered by Shambhala Centres and groups.
- Shambhala Online aims to provide a greater number of opportunities to study and dialogue with the Sakyong, and some of the best teachers in Shambhala, on a more regular basis.
- Shambhala Online can help take some pressure off overworked teachers in small centres, and provide education to the advanced students in your communities; students who may not have enough opportunities or guidance available to them locally.
- The live classes are interactive ~ this means that your participants can ask specific questions and receive personal responses from the teachers.
- All of the events are scheduled with the view to providing something that centres and groups may not be able to offer on a regular basis, or that individuals may not have sufficient access to.
How can Shambhala Online help your centre or group?
- If participation is challenging for you because of your time zone, your centre or group may participate in our classes using the downloadable audio recordings, or the streamed video recordings. To participate in this way, please register your group in the regular way on the Shambhala online website. As soon as the class has taken place, all registered groups will receive the links to the recordings.
- If you opt to use the recordings for courses, you may submit questions to the teacher between classes via email. Their response will be given in the following class.
- We price our online programs low enough so that centres and groups may raise the participant fee to provide some income for your centre.
- Shambhala Online ensures that online core path programs do not compete with live programs that are typically offered locally at centres, such as the Way of Shambhala classes. We do this by restricting online registration to those centres and groups who choose to offer an online program instead of a locally taught one. (We will also allow registration to individuals who either live too far away to attend a weekly class in a centere or who have physical limitations).
For questions or concerns about scheduling an online program for your centre or group, or for assistance with your technical setup and equipment, please contact heather@shambhalaonline.org
